A survivor of the Canterlot Disaster, Lyra wasn’t blessed nor cursed with meta-human powers. Instead she was left scarred by shrapnel on her back, but for the most part untouched.
Transplanted by the Refugee program for the surviving students of Canterlot High, Lyra displayed above average academic scores while also excelling in track and field sports. She was top of her class in archery but her sports career ended just as quickly as it started.
As the paranoia of anyone associated with the Canterlot Disaster escalated, so did the bigotry and bias against Lyra. Her name was pulled from any possible scholarships and she soon found herself ostracized as much as any of the other survivors.
By the time the wave of fear had begun to settle, it was too late for her to salvage anything regarding her marksmanship and she decided to look into a career in food service. Little did she know she caught the eye of AEGIS, namely Director Drops. As her food service career went nowhere fast, Lyra was contacted one night by the organization and, after a small series of training tasks guised as errands, she was accepted.
Taking the name Deathstrings, she became a master marksman and worked as an operative for the Equestrian City based wing of the group. Her relationship with Director Drops is described by all as complicated.
